Who We Are

A student-built cybersecurity community at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu, created to give students more opportunities to learn, compete, collaborate, and grow.

Our Story

Cyber Force One began with a group of driven students who came together during a cyber competition course at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu.

After a semester of collaboration, late nights, and skills training, our team placed 8th in the nation.

But what stayed with us wasn't just the result, it was the experience. We solved real-world problems, worked under pressure, learned from one another, and built something together as a team.

In 2024, there were no active student clubs at University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu focused specifically on cybersecurity. As underclassmen, we wanted more opportunities to develop our skills, find mentorship, compete, and continue learning outside the classroom.

So we created Cyber Force One.

Our vision is to create a community where students can connect, compete, and grow beyond the classroom while pushing their cybersecurity skills to the next level.

What We Do

We give students opportunities to learn by doing, whether that's solving challenges, attending workshops, or competing as a team.

Hands-On Learning

Develop practical cybersecurity skills through challenges, labs, workshops, and collaborative training.

Competitions

Represent University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu in cybersecurity competitions while developing technical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Industry Engagement

Attend cybersecurity conferences, training events, workshops, and other opportunities to engage with professionals in the field.

Community

Meet other students interested in cybersecurity, share knowledge, find teammates, and grow together.

Our Mission

Cyber Force One’s mission is to promote cybersecurity education, develop students’ technical skills through hands-on learning and competition, and build a collaborative community that supports networking, career development, and innovation at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu.
